My first experience with Hudson Hawk it was a horror video game for the NES, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that I bothered to watch the movie for the first time, and I was blown away. It’s easy to see why this is considered a historic box office bomb, bringing in $90 million worldwide and costing Tri-Star Pictures $90 million in total losses, because it’s unlike any other Bruce Willis film. What it is is a type of comedy that you will never see being made today.
Hudson Hawk it certainly won’t, made after the 90s when studios stopped taking risks on broad, over-the-top comedies. Thankfully, it’s available today on Video on Demand via Amazon Prime, Google Play, AppleTV, and YouTube. Know what to expect, and enjoy Bruce Willis like you’ve never seen him before.
