The Best Night Games Are Nothing But Boring

When I was growing up, my family and I used to play games almost every night after dinner. There were plenty of Monopoly marathons, Uno games to compete against, and more than a few domino games featuring ‘friendly bettors.’ And when it was approved, I needed a long pause before I jump eagerly back into the night game, as an adult, I’m happy to keep the tradition going. To help you do the same, I’ve rounded up my favorite late-night games that are guaranteed to keep you laughing late into the night. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Best Night Games

Before you scroll down, here are a few tips to take game night from a forced commitment to something everyone will look forward to. I love making special but stress-free meals (or putting together a variety of delicious foods), opening a bottle of wine, and setting the stage with a curated playlist that has something for everyone.

No competition? No worries. Although you can catch me *angry* engaging in all the games below, when you get down to it, I’m happy to be surrounded by the people I love without any screens between us. And, of course, we don’t need an excuse to make that happen. If we’ve learned anything in the past two years (and my goodness, we’ve certainly learned a lot), it’s this: Coming together, connecting, and offering your presence alone is enough.

But that being said, after the greetings and hugs, it’s always nice to have an activity or two to help keep the fun going. Whether you’re a strategic player or someone who likes to lean on their luck, you’ll be spoiled for choice with all the best night games below.
