The 13th edition of the Admiral’s Cup Sailing Regatta 2024 began at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, on Monday, with Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair, Commandant, INA, inaugurating the event at a ceremony at Ettikulam beach.
This current edition will see the participation of 25 international teams. In addition, two teams from INA, Ezhimala, and the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, will participate in the tournament, including an all-female team from INA.
The Admiral’s Cup regatta is an annual event that aims to build bridges of friendship with Foreign Friendly Countries (FFCs), strengthen naval-military cooperation, and showcase the INA, which includes a high-level water sports center and a water sports center. called Marakkar Watermanship Training Center (MWTC), which has more than 200 vessels.
The Admiral’s Cup and the Runners-up Cup will be awarded to the top two teams in the tournament.
In addition, individual medals will be awarded in the male and female categories. The event has grown in popularity since its inception in 2010.
