Teenagers are losing money in online games, setting themselves on fire

After reportedly losing money through online gambling, a 25-year-old youth attempted suicide in Beloor village of Bidar district on Thursday.

The victim identified as Vijaykumar J. Holle is a student of Pharmacy.

According to the police, Vijaykumar, who was addicted to playing online games, had lost more than Rs 1.5 lakh and was in debt due to his obsession with online gaming.

Vijaykumar, who was badly burnt in the attempt, was shifted to the District Hospital for treatment.

Mehakar police have registered a case. They are trying to find the total amount of Vijaykumar lost in online games.
