Low pressure area over Bay of Bengal to cause heavy rain in TN till Thursday
A low pressure area formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal during the early hours of Monday will set a widespread rain field, especially over northern Tamil Nadu, and herald the onset of northeast monsoon over the State. The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Chennai, has predicted that the northeast monsoon is likely to reach the southern peninsular region on October 16 or 17.
While the heavy rain will continue till October 17, the RMC has predicted that the heavy rain, which will begin in northern Tamil Nadu and the regions near the delta will be heavy on October 15 and 16.
