Sunil Pal kidnapping case: Uttar Pradesh Police announces reward for accused

Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for five absconding suspects in the abduction case of comedian and actor Sunil Pal, police said on Tuesday (December 17, 2024).

Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada said that the absconding persons are Lavi Pal alias Sushant alias Himanshu, Akash alias Gola alias Deependra, Shiva, Ankit alias Pahadi, and Shubham.

“All five have been declared wanted, and efforts are ongoing as the police raid to find clues and arrest them. It is noteworthy that Arjun Karnwal was previously arrested by the Meerut police following an encounter related to this case,” said Mr. Tada.

Sunil Pal was allegedly kidnapped on December 2 after being invited and pretending to be singing at a party. The kidnappers held him for almost 24 hours and released him after extorting Rs 8 lakh as ransom.

After this, the wife of Mr. Pal filed an FIR in Mumbai, which was then forwarded to the Lal Kurti police station in Meerut. In a similar incident, Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan, was also abducted in western UP’s Bijnor recently.
