It came a day behind schedule, but the wait was worth it. The theatrical release of Salman Khan’s new film, Sikandar, promises his fans a packed ride. The actor has had a hit in the past few years, with several of his films underperforming critically and commercially. However, with Sikandar, he hoped to return to normal places. The actor’s career found a new lease of life in 2009, with the film Wanted. That film introduced the South Indian flavor to mainstream Bollywood. Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, seems to continue that trend.
The one-and-a-half minute teaser begins with Salman’s character, Sikandar, entering a large room flanked by samurai statues. As he walks through the room, the samurai appear to be alive. They let go of their weapons and proceeded to Sikandar’s corner. He can be frightened by their presence, take them one by one, use guns. The music, which starts with a guitar riff that sounds like a Breaking Benjamin song, switches to rap, and ends with bhangra.

The teaser of Sikandar was supposed to be released on Salman’s 59th birthday party on December 27, but was delayed on the day of honoring the late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Salman’s fans seemed happy with what they saw in the show. “This is MISA. Salman Khan is back. What is BGM. Stop color grading. Eid celebrations start today,” one fan wrote in the YouTube comment section. “Woooooooooooooo… Salman Bhaiii.. Is Backk.. Sikandar…”
Salman was last seen in the big-budget film Tiger 3, which did well enough at the box office, but its success was offset by the huge cost. Prior to that, she played a very important and selling role in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. Sikandar, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna, will release during Eid 2025.
