The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed Local Government Prosecutor Mahesh Raje to obtain instructions regarding the seizure of the mobile phone of former BRS MP Padi Kaushik Reddy by the Masab Tank House officer.
Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy was hearing a writ petition filed over lunch by the former Huzurabad district legislator seeking a direction to the police to return his cell phone, which was seized by Masab Tank Inspector Ch. Parashuram.
According to the applicant, the Inspector took his mobile phone by force after bringing him to the Masab Tank police station on November 6 in a criminal case.
A case was registered against him when the former MP was allegedly preventing the Banjara Hills Police Inspector from doing his job. The applicant’s lawyer said that the police did not issue a slip admitting that the phone was intercepted. Mr. Mahesh Raje informed the Bench that the call was intercepted as part of the investigation into the case registered against him.
A call has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory to find out if there is any conspiracy in the case registered against the former MLA. The judge adjourned the case to Thursday for the next hearing.
