Separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani is on the list of former MPs and MLAs to be recalled by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday.

Separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani is on the list of former MPs and MLAs to be recalled by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the assembly will make references to the deaths of people who were members of the legislature who died since the last session of the Legislature in February 2018.
Others who will appear at the funeral procession on Tuesday include former president Pranab Mukherjee, former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, former governor Jagmohan Malhotra and the late BJP MP Devender Singh Rana.
Geelani was a three-term member of the legislative assembly from the Sopore constituency, winning in 1972, 1977 and 1987.
With the outbreak of war in 1989, Geelani joined a separatist party and boycotted the elections until his death in 2021.
