The first 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung will unveil its next set of flagship Android smartphones, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, is just a week away. Before the event, the company played an updated version of Sketch to Image, a feature that allows users to convert simple sketches into images.
The enhanced Sketch to Image feature on the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be powered by multimodal AI generation capabilities. The user can make a rough drawing using the S-Pen (or their fingers) and use voice commands and text input to provide context to help the AI understand the requirement and produce the best image possible.
Samsung also gives an example: a person can draw a simple cat, write the text “a cat wearing a space suit,” and use the voice command “a cat wearing a cape, flying in space”. Galaxy AI will combine all these factors to produce the image as you imagined.
Samsung also calls OneUI 7, based on Android 15, its first integrated AI platform, where selected devices running on OneUI 7 can understand natural language through images, text, and voice.
At first, Samsung is likely to keep this new AI experience exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series that will be launched on January 22. In the coming months, these features will come to devices such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra (review) and the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S25 series is already available for pre-booking in India at the usual price of Rs 2,000 and will be available for purchase, probably a week after the Galaxy Unpacked event.
