“Since he’s gone, I’m going to talk about Winnie the Pooh for a while,” said Struthers, 77, on the Monday, January 13, episode of “Let’s Talk About That! With Larry Saperstein and Jacob Bellotti” podcast. “I know everyone loves him. They loved him very much.”
Struthers acknowledged that White’s supporters have successfully signed “petitions to get him in the house.” Saturday Night Live” but he admitted, “I didn’t have such a good experience with him.” (White died in December 2021 at age 99.)

Struthers explained that he once went to sitcom star White’s home in Los Angeles to work as a pilot for a new show. While there, Mhlophe asked the housekeeper to bring snacks for the group.

While Struthers doesn’t have the most fond memories of White, he was close to the actor’. The Golden Girls the costar Bea Arthur. (White played ditzy Rose in the comedy from 1985 to 1992 opposite Arthur’s sardonic Dorothy. Arthur died in December 2019 at age 86.)
“He was a force of nature,” Struthers said of Arthur — whom he met when Arthur guest starred as Maude All in the Family in 1971. “Bea Arthur was dirtier than a deliberately drunk sailor.”
Struthers, who played Gloria All in the Familyremembers meeting Arthur at a grocery store in Brentwood, California, after he moved to the area for the spinoff, Maudeyears before The Golden Girls‘to start.

Getty Images“He would trash everyone we’ve ever known,” Struthers said with a laugh. “I loved how dirty he was. He was a big deal. I loved him.”
The actress also remembered Rue McClanahanwho played the saucy Blanche The Golden Girlsfor being “beloved.” McClanahan died in June 2010 at the age of 76.
Although Struthers’ encounter with White was unusual – White was one of the most popular actors of his time and fortune in America – he was not the only one who did not connect with White immediately.
Arthur and White butted heads The Golden Girls despite playing best friends alongside McClanahan and Estelle Gettywho played Dorothy’s witty mother Sophia.
