After the success of his anthology series A monster, Ryan Murphy supports a third season about a convicted murderer Ed Gein.
The first season of the new Netflix show started in 2022 and focused on it Evan Peters‘ a figure of Jeffrey Dahmer. A monsteralso with a star Niecy Nashcame under fire after the family of Dahmer’s victims revealed that they were not interviewed for the show.
Peters, on the other hand, opened up about how his mental health was affected after taking on the difficult role. “I’m going to take a little break from dark roles and explore the light,” he told Variety in December 2022. “It would be fun for me to play something closer to home, that rarely explores the details of those kinds of experiences.”
Season 2 faced a similar backlash Erik Menendez he killed Murphy’s picture of him and his brother Lyle Menendez. However, Murphy stood his ground until he said that Monsters created renewed support for the Menendez case, which ultimately led to a new trial by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

“I don’t mind being complicated. I know my intentions were good,” said Murphy People in September 2024. “We just wanted people to talk about this topic and it’s an unpleasant topic, I find.”
Murphy called the criticism of the players of the program as “false outrage,” adding, “Because if you look at what we do, we give those guys a lot of time to talk about what they say is their physical abuse.” We live in a kind of angry culture that many things are knee-jerk, and that’s okay. I’m used to having an argument. It’s not new to me.”

When Will ‘Monster: The Original Monster’ Be Released?

Who is Ed Gein?
Nicknamed the “Butcher of Plainfield,” Gein was convicted of one murder and confessed to a second murder in the 1950s. It is alleged that Gein was involved in several other crimes in his hometown of Plainfield, Wisconsin. Gein also admitted to exhuming many graves and fashion archives without bodies.
Gein was initially found incompetent to stand trial and committed to a mental health facility. In 1968, a jury found him competent to stand trial and Gein was found guilty of murdering a hardware store owner. Bernice Worden. He was later found legally insane and remained in a mental institution until his death in 1984 at the age of 77 from respiratory failure caused by lung cancer.

In the middle American Horror Story: Asylum, Zachary Quinto played a fictional serial killer named Dr. Oliver Thredson aka Bloody Face was inspired by Gein. At that time, season 1 of Monster was launched Shane Kerwin like Gein although there has never been any written communication between him and Dahmer.
