RSS gives ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ call to free temples from State capture

The Andhra Pradesh wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has given a clarion call to Hindus to participate en masse in the ‘Chalo Vijayawada’ call scheduled for January 5, 2025, as part of their struggle to liberate Hindu temples. from the capture of the Kingdom.

Titled ‘Haindava Sankharavam’, the RSS State unit organized a preparatory meeting in Tirupati on Sunday (November 03), with the aim of reaching out to all areas of the state by spreading the message of starting a nationwide movement. The meeting appealed to the Hindus to understand the need for the temples to be preserved from interference by the State and empowered to control the Dharmic body.

It is interesting that the RSS leaders have specially chosen Tirupati for the event, as it was the center of a recent controversy where ghee mixed with animal fat was allegedly used in the preparation of the famous ‘Tirumala Laddu Prasadam’.

Presenting this case in his speech, RSS Prantha Karyavah (State secretary) Malapati Srinivasa Reddy said that such incidents of playing with the sentiments of Hindus will happen when the administration is given players who show indifference to the sanctity of temples.

Complaining that the Government’s action to manage the temples is against Article 12, 25 and 26 of the Constitution of India, Mr. Reddy lamented that Hindu holy places are still fighting for freedom, even after 77 years since India gained independence.

The RSS leader wants only people who claim to be Hindus to be appointed as workers in Hindu temples, including on contract and employment basis. Similarly, he stopped the appointment of non-politicians to the temple finance boards and the use of the income received from the temples for the propagation of Hindu faith and spiritual activities, and it was not diverted from the State treasury to be used for national purposes.

The leaders invited the devout Hindus to attend the congregation scheduled for January 5 and express their solidarity in this cause.
