Pictures of former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, during a visit to a coffee shop in Bengaluru have gone viral on social media.
While Sunak was seen in a crisp white shirt and black trousers, Murty wore a yellow colored kurta. Sunak served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2022 to 2023.
Before visiting the Third Wave Coffee Shop in Bangalore, the former Prime Minister and his wife offered prayers at the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar on Wednesday. The couple was accompanied by Sunak’s in-laws – Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murty.
Pictures of the couple seeking Guru Raghavendra Swamy’s blessings have surfaced on social media. They also participated in traditional temple rituals during their visit on Tuesday.

Sudha Murty’s family is devoted to Raya. Sudha Murty is a true devotee of Raghavendra Swami. He often says, “Raya’s service is my worship,” implying that he finds devotion in it.
The family often worships at Raya Math. Sudha Murty’s husband, Narayan Murthy, is also devoted to Raya. Naturally, the couple’s daughter also shares in this dedication.
Sunak, who is of Punjabi origin, is known for his religious leanings. Even after becoming the Prime Minister of UK, he maintained his religious connection with India.
Influenced by his wife, Akshata, Sunak became Raya’s devotee. As part of his devotion, he fasts every Thursday, eating only at night.
