Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt grew up in the film industry but from the time they were children, it was obvious to the people around them that they were really talented. In a recent interview, veteran journalist Bhawana Somaaya shared tales of Ranbir and Alia’s formative years and said that they are an extremely talented couple. Talking about Ranbir, Bhawana said that if he ever decides to produce a film, he will make his late grandfather proud, too. About Alia, she said her rise to prominence was started by her elder sister Pooja Bhatt.
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Bhawana said that Ranbir was a “good-looking kid” and a “very naughty kid.” He said that whenever he went to meet Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir would hide in a corner and listen to their conversation. In fact, Ranbir was obsessed with one of his books where he wrote about Neetu’s love affair with Rishi Kapoor. “Ranbir is a very organized man. He is calm and intelligent. He’s been through some tough times and he’s a great actor. I believe we only saw a little bit. He will blow your mind with his work. And if he ever decides to direct, which I believe he will, Raj Kapoor will be proud,” she said.
He also recalled some stories from Alia’s childhood and shared an anecdote from when the Bhatts were shooting in Seychelles, and he was with them. Bhawana recalled that Alia was supposed to shoot in one of the films where Pooja played a major role. “Alia would stand for the gun, shoot and tell her father, ‘It’s done, collect’. And it was perfect,” he recalled.

Bhawana recalled that at one point, Mahesh had asked Pooja and Alia to rest in the room until the next shot, and Bhawana was with them. As soon as the shoot was ready and the assistant came to call Pooja, Alia jumped up, looked in the mirror and went to shoot, and this left Pooja very impressed. “Alia Bhatt’s fame was predicted by Pooja Bhatt. He said he is going to be such a big star and he is talented. He said this was in the Seychelles when Alia was young,” he recalled.
Ranbir and Alia will next be seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War.
