“I know that it is only intended to shorten ‘wives and girlfriends’ because there are a lot of words. [and] I get it,” Kylie, 28, said on the Sunday, Oct. 6, episode of the “Sunday Sports Club” podcast. “But, I can’t take it seriously, like, I won’t [say]like, ‘I’m a WAG.’ Just know if I ever use the word ‘WAG’, I don’t mean it.”
Kylie was talking about NFL life with the podcast host Allison Kuchwhose man Isaac Rochell He played for the Raiders last season before being released in late 2023. The two women also pointed out that most NFL teammates across the league never introduce themselves as “WAGs.”
“[It] it doesn’t refer to a group of girls, like, we’re like, ‘We’re wives and girlfriends,'” Kylie explained, “Or, ‘We’re Raiders women,’ usually that’s what I say. . Yesterday we had a Raiders women’s brunch, so that’s what I’m going to call it — not ‘i -WAGs brunch.’ I just don’t know. It’s just fun.”
AJ, 28, and Kylie, a professional athlete, married in March 2023. They have been together since 2017, first meeting as students at North Carolina State University.
AJ played his entire career with the Raiders, first signing with the Oakland, California-based team in 2019. The following year, the group moved to Las Vegas. During that time and beyond, Kylie bonded with other athletes’ family members.
“We have a small group right now that is trying to get together and find out [a time] you will watch Gilmore Girls together since the fall,” Kylie said. “The girls will go to exercise classes and have dinner [and] we just went Pink a complete concert. The Raiders actually stopped that. They put us all in a box and went to the concert together. It’s a lot of fun, and this year especially, I don’t know what’s different about it but the girls are always shooting things in the group discussion.”

As one of the Raiders’ most experienced wives, Kylie often fields many “questions” from new members. Additionally, team dynamics often change as football rosters change throughout the season. With various cuts and moves, that means NFL teammates have to leave their friends behind.
“It’s never been fun because on the women’s side, you make these friends, you meet their kids, you watch their kids grow up and then, all of a sudden, they’re gone for contract reasons,” Kylie said. “Whatever the situation is, it’s awkward because it feels like you have to start all over and I’m getting older – funny, I’m only 28, but in football years I’m like an old woman. group.”
