Pune teenager denied college admission after Porsche crash, says his lawyer

The little boy who took part the fatal Pune Porsche crash who killed two techies is trying to get admission in any college because of the ongoing case against him, his lawyer informed the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).

The minor accused, a recent 12th passer, had applied for BBA course at a prestigious college in Delhi, but was denied admission following the incident, his lawyer said.

A 17-year-old boy was allegedly driving a Porsche car when it hit two IT engineers on a motorcycle, one of whom was a woman, in Kalyani Nagar area on the morning of May 19, killing both of them.

While arguing with the Juvenile Justice Board, the young suspect’s lawyer urged the board members to ensure that his studies are not disrupted due to the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray, while arguing the case, said that education is a right of everyone guaranteed by the Constitution and he (the minor defendant) must get admission in the college of his choice.

In June, the police sent their final report to JJB detailing all the evidence against the 17-year-old boy in the car accident case. The JJB is also hearing a petition, filed by the Pune police, who wants to try the minor as an adult in connection with the accident.
