Project Starlight: OnePlus announces investment of Rs 6,000 crores in India


Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has announced an annual investment of Rs 2,000 crores over the next three years – meaning the company has planned a total investment of Rs 6,000 crore in India under the name Project Starlight.

“The new display is set to be featured on the upcoming flagship device and is designed to stand out in the sunlight in India, redefining clarity, brightness, and color vibrancy. The 2K 120Hz ProXDR Display’s high brightness of 4500 nits allows clear visibility even under sunlight. which is very bright, ensuring that colors stay true and images remain bright without being washed out,” the company said.

To address the ‘Green Line’ concerns seen in mobile devices across the industry, the company is adding a new layer of protection to all AMOLED displays and extending its lifetime warranty program to all OnePlus devices against green line display issues.

The smartphone manufacturer will also focus on enhancing the user experience through improved service quality. To ensure this, the company aims to increase its service centers by 50 percent by mid-2026.

OnePlus has increased its service centers by 22 percent this year, including an 11 percent increase in exclusive service centers owned by the brand.

To meet the growing and diverse user base, OnePlus is improving its online services, which include hotline support, WhatsApp help, and live chat options.

Advanced training programs for technical staff will ensure fast and efficient support, while a more transparent maintenance process will allow users to track the progress of their service requests. Additionally, OnePlus is improving its flagship store segment to provide a better in-store experience and empowering third-party stores with improved service capabilities. All these initiatives aim to make the service more accessible and satisfying for Indian users.
