Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a ‘Maharatna’ Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power, has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Haryana State CSR Trust to fund the construction of a 100-bed facility. girls hostel and teaching facility, and provision of IT, medicine, music equipment at Government Girls College, Sector-14, Gurugram.
MoUs are signed there Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister of State (IC) for Statistics and Implementation Rao Inderjeet Singh and Haryana Minister of Industries and Commerce Rao Narbir Singh. POWERGRID Director (Personnel) Dr Yatindra Dwivedi, Executive Director (Communications and Law) Adish Kumar Guptaand Chief Executive Officer (CSR) Jasbir Singhwere present along with other senior officials of the PSU, the state government, and the Gurugram district administration.
The MoUs were signed by AK Mishra, GM (HR-CSR), NR-I, POWERGRID, and Ajay Kumar, DC cum Jt Secretary, Haryana State CSR Trust.
These plans, with an estimated cost of Rs 20.38 crore for a girls’ hostel, teaching facility and provision of equipment, will be an important step in promoting women’s empowerment and improving the education infrastructure for girls in and around Gurugram.
Corporate Social Responsibility is included in POWERGRID’s business model and is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
POWERGRID has been continuously contributing to the economic and social development sector throughout the country through its CSR programs.
Since November 30POWERGRID has commissioned and operates 280 sub-stations, over 1,78,975 ckm transmission lines and 5,45,961 MVA of transformer capacity. With the adoption of the latest technical tools and methods, advanced use of automation and digital solutions, POWERGRID has been able to maintain an average transmission system availability of more than 99.80 percent.
