Paul Mescal brings his Irish charm Down Under.
The actor looked dapper in a double-breasted coffee suit at the Australian premiere of his new film, Gladiator IIin Sydney on Wednesday, October 30. Mescal looked handsome as he stood on the red carpet with his hand in his pocket and his white shirt unbuttoned to his chest.
Mescal, 28, was joined by costars Connie Nielsen again Fred Hechingerand the manufacturer Michael Pruss.
Mescal has been on a promotional spree Gladiator II – which opens in theaters on Friday, November 22 – around the world, including a special screening in New York City and an interview show with the costar. Denzel Washington in the UK
The actor said on the Friday, October 25, episode of the BBC The Graham Norton Show that he refused to give up drinking and smoking while training to get into high shape to play the lead character Lucius Verus.
“I ate a lot of chicken and lifted heavy things,” Mescal said of his body transformation. “I was working with a coach who circled me like a shark and said, ‘There is a canvas for me to work on.’ He went to town, and I saw him every day. It was fun.”

However, he added, “I did everything he asked but I like to drink, and I also like to smoke, so I drew a line in the sand where they were concerned.”
Mescal also admitted that he was surprised when he first saw the Washington set.
“It was the biggest day of my life – it was amazing. I spent the first day thinking, ‘I have to introduce myself to him,’ and I stood there for a few minutes before [decided]’Not today,’” said the actor. “The next day I decided to be a brave boy.”
Set more than two decades after the events of the original The Gladiator movie actor Russell CroweMescal plays the son of Crowe’s character, Maximus, who is forced into slavery and becomes a gladiator in order to gain his freedom.
The film also stars Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn again Derek Jacobi.
