Parks QB Jordan Love available to play, CB Jaire Alexander out vs. Vikings

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love returns Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings after missing two games with a knee injury.

The Packers did not list Love among their tight ends for Sunday’s game after he had limited practice for the second straight week. Love has been out since injuring his left medial collateral ligament during the series finale of a 34-29 season-opening loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 6 in Brazil.

Love arrived at Lambeau Field wearing Brett Favre’s No. 1 jersey. 4 Packers. Favre, who spent most of his Hall of Fame career with the Packers but spent his final two seasons with the Vikings, announced Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Favre revealed this as part of his testimony to a congressional committee about the Mississippi welfare abuse scandal.

With Love unavailable for the past two weeks, Malik Willis has led the Packers to wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. Willis went 25 of 33 for a combined 324 yards with two touchdown passes and no interceptions in those two games. He also rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries.

The injury-related news for the Packers (2-1) has not been entirely positive heading into their NFC North matchup with the Vikings (3-0).

Two-time Pro Bowler Jaire Alexander will not play as he is dealing with quadriceps and groin issues that kept him out of practice on Friday. The Packers will also be without linebacker Carrington Valentine for the second straight game due to an ankle problem.

That leaves Green Bay’s secondary at full strength as the Packers try to contain a Minnesota receiving corps that includes 2022 All-Pro Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, who is available Sunday after missing two games with an ankle injury.

Other Packers tight end Kitan Oladapo, defensive end Brenton Cox Jr., offensive lineman Jordan Morgan, offensive tackle Travis Glover and defensive end Colby Wooden.

Vikings quarterback Ivan Pace Jr. linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., Fabian Moreau, wide receiver Trishton Jackson, quarterback Brett Rypien, linebacker Dwight McGlothern, defensive lineman Levi Drake Rodriguez and Walter Rouse the one who attacks.

It is reported by the Associated Press.
