Former President Trump got caught up in the excitement of the long-standing rivalry between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia, participating in a wide-ranging interview about college football and political affiliation.
In an exclusive OutKick interview with Clay Travis, Trump highlighted the “power” from the Alabama vs. Georgia on Saturday night.
“This is a big time for football, and it’s exciting to see,” Trump said.
The audience inside the stadium cheered as Trump was shown on a jumbo television, on a video board, watching the game with Sens. Katie Britt, Tommy Tuberville and Steve Daines from Montana.

When asked about his appeal with younger voters, Trump said his campaign is “on top.”
“We’ve grown a lot with the young people. It’s an honor. They’re very smart. And so is he [Kamala Harris] he criticized them, saying they are ‘not smart’ and, to be honest, they are smarter than him,” he said.
“There’s never been a power like this. And I think it’s me, but it’s also when they look at our country and what’s happened. Our country is going bad, and it’s in a very dangerous place. But we love our country, and we’re going to make it good again.

The NFL’s game changes have drawn the attention of Trump, with the Republican nominee praising college football for sticking to past rules.
“Big-time college football is as big as the NFL,” he said. “I don’t know what they’re doing with kickoff returns in the NFL. And I don’t want to get into arguments, of course, but it seems pretty bad.
“And I realized that they weren’t doing that in college, and they shouldn’t have been doing it,” she said. “And I think the NFL should go back. And maybe it’s a little dangerous, but I doubt it’s too dangerous. Football.”
“I think they made a terrible mistake by doing that,” he said.

Trump turned his attention to vice president Kamala Harris, Gov. Tim Walz, who attended Saturday’s game in between. Minnesota and Michigan in Ann Arbor.
“He got a shock when he left the field,” he said. “And you saw the hand we had – it was a little different.”

“We’ll have to see what happens on November 5. I think it’s the most important day in the history of our country,” Trump said. “That will be the biggest election we have ever had because our country is going bad. I thought they were destroying it, no they destroyed our country, we will bring it back.”

Trump turned his attention to seven-time NFL Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who made his debut on the FOX Sports broadcast.

“I think he’s done very well. And I think he’s going to do very well. He’s a winner, he’s a champion,” Trump said when asked about his performance. “Also, there are many people who are jealous of him, so they will always say, no matter how good he is, they will always be as bad as possible.”
“I think you’re doing very well,” he said.
