OpenAI is beta testing a new ChatGPT workspace called Canvas. The AI giant has unveiled its new ChatGPT workspace and it is currently available for ChatGPT Plus and Team users. Enterprise and Edu users will be able to access Canvas sometime next week.
Canvas is a visual interface for writing and coding projects that allows users to interact with ChatGPT for specific project components. A separate window opens outside of the main dialog area and users can write text or code on this new “canvas” and highlight sections for the model to focus and edit like a “copy editor or code reviewer,” according to the blog.
Canvas can be opened manually by typing “use canvas” in your notification. The canvas can automatically reopen when it “finds a situation where it can be useful,” according to the blog post.
There are also several shortcuts that can be used to write and write projects. Users can ask ChatGPT for suggested layouts, height adjustments, reading level changes and emojis for writing projects. Coders can have ChatGPT update some lines of code, add logs and comments for more clarity, fix bugs and port code to another language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C++ or PHP in the mode of -Canvas.
OpenAI’s Canvas feature brings ChatGPT into line with other AI assistants that have separate workspaces to focus on specific areas of a project such as AI modeling that focuses on coding.
