Only Apple’s cheapest watch is getting a redesign this year, a new report claims

Apple is preparing to introduce three new models of the Apple Watch in 2025, but only one is being redesigned.

This was said by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via MacRumors), who shared what he knows about the company’s plans in the latest edition of his “Power On” magazine.

It is reported that all three new models will be launched in the second half of 2025 – possibly during Apple’s annual iPhone launch event, which usually takes place in September. The cheapest of the three, the Apple Watch SE, will have a “new look,” while the Series 11 and Ultra 3 models will be “almost identical,” the report said.

Mashable Light Speed

Previous rumors have indicated that Apple may opt for a plastic casing for the Apple Watch SE, but there is no mention of that in this report.

As for the Apple Watch Series 11, it wouldn’t be surprising if it could remain the same, as long as it gets the best redesign from last year, with a bigger display and a smaller profile.

If the Apple Watch Ultra 3 does not change, that would be strange, since that model has not changed at all since the original was launched in 2022.

I checked out my share of laptops, and this Apple M2 MacBook Air for under $800 is a steal.

That may not matter, however, as the Ultra 3 will reportedly get some exciting new features, including satellite connectivity, and 5G RedCap network access. It may also finally be time for Apple to add high blood pressure detection to both the Ultra 3 and Series 11.
