Noida airport goes one step ahead, to start second phase of ops from November 15 | Delhi News

The Noida International Airport based at Jewar in western Uttar Pradesh has started preparations for the second phase of trial operations scheduled to begin on November 15.

In the second phase, Akasa, Indigo and Air India flights will probably take off and land every day until December 15, said Arun Veer Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Noida International Airport Limited.

The evaluation process will continue for one month. “This data will be uploaded on December 20 in the DGCA website and we will apply for the aircraft license,” said Singh.

The airport authorities expect to receive the license on March 20 and operations are expected to start fully on April 17, 2025 with 30 flights on the first day, a senior official said on Saturday. He added that this would include three international flights – Zurich, Singapore and Dubai – and two cargo flights.

“Initially, we planned to operate 30 flights, 25 of which are domestic flights, three international flights and two cargo flights,” said Singh.

Festive offer

“The Director General of Civil Aviation has approved the calibration of our aircraft after receiving many reports regarding the runway, air speed and thus we have completed the first phase of the airport operation,” he added.

He added that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa. “Several other airlines are yet to be wired and we are working on that. In terms of domestic flights, Noida will be connected to Lucknow, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dehradun and several other cities. However, we have not finalized the list of hometowns and it may change over time. We will soon finalize the draft,” said the CEO.

“During the inspection, the runway will see several flights of Indigo Airlines, Akasa Airlines (small and large) and Airport Authority of India (AAI) flights as well. An agreement with Air India is also being prepared,” he added.
