Xiaomi’s new flagship phone has arrived, and it looks familiar.
With the Xiaomi 14T Pro, it seems that Xiaomi’s design heads just said: Well, let’s think about next year’s iPhone, and design our phone to look like that.
The result, unsurprisingly, looks very good, even if it’s not real. Xiaomi sent me a review unit of the 14T Pro in Titan Gray color, and I was surprised how much I liked it. It has flat, aluminum edges, lined with antenna lines, and on the back, there’s a big camera bump that’s undeniably iPhone-ish, with one big difference: It holds four camera units instead of three.

The phone is larger than my iPhone 15 Pro Max, with much smaller bezels on the front. The only thing that really betrays it as an Android phone is the dot-sized camera cutout at the top of the display; if Xiaomi had put something pill-shaped, like the Dynamic Island cut out there, it would probably be too much.

Overall, I like the design. The phone is simple but beautiful. And I’ve had a few people ask me “what kind of iPhone,” so that was fun.

Apart from that, the new Xiaomi phone is a powerful beast, with powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256/512/1,024GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired charging and wireless charging. which is 50W. The 6.67-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 2,712×1,220 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, and a maximum brightness of 4,000 nits.
Finally, the rear camera with the Leica logo on the back has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera (the fourth circle carries the flash). On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
On the front, it’s still the familiar Android.

Finally, the phone comes with many AI features, including Circle to Search by Google and support for Google Gemini. This is huge, as these features were previously only available on Google’s Pixel devices and other Samsung phones. There are also other AI features in Xiaomi 14T Pro made by Xiaomi, such as AI Notes, AI Recorder, and AI Image Editing.

The Xiaomi 14T Pro is available worldwide (but not in the US, at least not directly) and starts at €800. The Xiaomi 14T, a model that looks similar but has a less powerful chip and lacks some features like wireless charging, is also available, starting at €650.
