NIA is investigating in Punjab in the conspiracy case against Gurupatwant Pannun

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday conducted investigations at four locations across Punjab in a case related to the promotion of activities related to terrorism and violence by Sikh For Justice (SFJ) leader Gurupatwant Singh Pannun.

Anti-terrorist agency teams searched one location in Moga and Mohali and two locations in Bathinda for buildings linked to the case.

The NIA search led to the seizure of various incriminating materials, including digital devices, which are under examination.

“The NIA on Friday conducted investigations at four locations in Punjab in a case related to incitement of acts of terrorism and violence by SFJ leader Gurupatwant Singh Pannun”, said a statement from the investigation agency.

The NIA had registered a case against Pannun and SFJ on November 17, last year for sending threatening video messages to Air India passengers.

According to a video released by Pannun on November 4, he had asked Sikhs not to travel on Air India flights even on November 19, 2023. The designated terrorist also threatened that Air India would not be allowed to operate internationally.

Following Pannun’s threat, a major alert was issued and investigations launched in Canada, India and several other countries where Air India operates, according to the NIA.
