Brett Howden scored at 2:15 of overtime as the Vegas Golden Knights remained unbeaten at home with a 4-3 victory over the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Howden took a pass from Noah Hanifin at the bottom of the left circle, went around Alexander Kerfoot and cut in front of the net and beat Connor Ingram with a backhand shot on the glove side for the game winner.
Hanifin finished with a goal and two assists, Howden added an assist and William Karlsson and Pavel Dorofeyev scored for Vegas, which tied its franchise record with its eighth straight home victory (8-0-0), including the points set in the first of it. 2017-18 season. Adin Hill made 16 saves for the Golden Knights.
Logan Cooley had a goal and an assist, Nick Bjugstad had two assists and Ian Cole and Kerfoot scored for Utah, which lost for the fifth time in its last six games. Ingram finished with 31 saves.

AJ Greer scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period to lift Florida to a win against Dallas and a sweep of the 2024 NHL Global Series in Tampere, Finland.
Sam Reinhart, who got an assist on Evan Rodrigues’ goal in the first half, scored into an empty net a minute into the third. Matthew Tkachuk scored a power-play goal and Spencer Knight made 23 for the Panthers, who have won five straight. Florida posted a 6-4 win over Dallas on Friday.
Matt Duchene had a goal and an assist and Casey DeSmith made 21 saves for the Stars.
Bruins 3, Flyers 0
Brad Marchand registered a goal and an assist as Boston topped Philadelphia.
Joonas Korpisalo made 20 saves for his fifth career shutout — and first since April 10, 2023, when he shutout the Vancouver Canucks as a member of the Los Angeles Kings. Matthew Poitras and Justin Brazeau also scored for the Bruins, who had lost five of their last six games.
Samuel Ersson started in goal for the Flyers before leaving early in the first half with an undisclosed injury. Philadelphia had won three of its last four games, including Tuesday’s win in Boston — its first road victory over the Bruins in more than 13 years.
Capitals 7, Green Jackets 2
Connor McMichael scored two goals, including one of Washington’s five first-half goals, in a road trip to Columbus.
Alex Ovechkin and Dylan Strome each had a goal and two assists for the Capitals, who have won three straight. Aliaksei Protas, Andrew Mangiapane and Nic Dowd also scored, while Logan Thompson made 34 saves.
Damon Severson and Kevin Labanc scored for the Blue Jackets, while Daniil Tarasov made 15 saves.
Red Wings 2, Sabers 1
Dylan Larkin scored two power play goals in the second half and host Detroit held on to beat Buffalo.
Larkin, the Red Wings captain, has a career-high five goals this season. Cam Talbot made 31 saves for Detroit, which ended a three-game losing streak.
Alex Tuch scored a shorthanded goal for Buffalo, which has lost three games in a row. The Sabers were playing for the second night in a row after losing 4-3 to the New York Islanders on Friday.
Blackhawks 4, Kings 3
After assisting on Tyler Bertuzzi’s tying goal with 31 seconds left in regulation, Ryan Donato scored the final score in the shootout, and visiting Chicago held on for a win over Los Angeles.
Connor Bedard, Teuvo Teravainen and Donato each scored a goal in the shootout, and Petr Mrazek made 37 saves for Chicago, which improved to 2-2-0 on the five-game road trip.
The Blackhawks won at home for the first time in four tries in Los Angeles, getting two goals from Alex Laferriere.
Senators 3, Kraken 0
Anton Forsberg made 22 saves in his second NHL-best shutout of the season as Ottawa beat Seattle.
Tim Stutzle had a goal and an assist for the Senators, sealing the victory with an empty netter with 2:14 remaining. Adam Gaudette and Brady Tkachuk also scored for the Senators, who had lost three of their last four games – including Friday night’s 2-1 loss to the host New York Rangers.
The Kraken lost their second straight to drop to 1-2-0 on their five-game road trip. Goalkeeper Philipp Grubauer stopped 20 of 22 shots.
Blues 4, Maple Leafs 2
Colton Parayko scored twice and had an assist as St. Louis beat Toronto by winning three games in a row.
Jordan Kyrou and Pavel Buchnevich also scored and Ryan Suter had two assists for the Blues, who defeated Toronto for the second time in nine days. Jordan Binington made 35 saves to earn his 148th victory for the Blues, tying Jake Allen for second on the team’s all-time list. The depleted Blues got another boost when defender Philip Broberg went off with a right leg injury in the second half.
Mitch Marner and Steven Lorentz scored for the Maple Leafs, ending a three-game scoring streak. Joseph Woll, a native of St. Louis, made 20 saves in Toronto.
Penguins 3, Canadiens 1
Sidney Crosby scored twice as Pittsburgh topped Montreal for the fifth consecutive time.
Blake Lizotte had the other goal for the Penguins. Alex Nedeljkovic made 25 saves in his third win in six games against the Canadiens. Pittsburgh has won back-to-back games for just the second time this season.
Christian Dvorak had a goal and Sam Montembeault stopped 21 shots for the Canadiens, who have lost three games in a row.
Predators 5, Avalanche 2
Roman Josi scored the eventual game-winner early in the third period and Nashville connected on both of its power play opportunities to beat Colorado.
Josi, Steven Stamkos and Gustav Nyquist had a goal and an assist. Filip Forsberg and Colton Sissons also scored as Nashville won for the fourth time in its last six games (4-1-1). Goalkeeper Juuse Saros stopped 28 of 30 shots.
Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar each had a goal and an assist to extend their streak to 12 games apiece for the Avalanche. Justus Annunen made 20 saves. Forward Nikita Prishchepov, 20, made his NHL debut in Colorado and had two shots on goal in 13:30 of ice time, but the Avalanche lost their third straight game (0-3-0).
Canucks 3, Sharks 2
Pius Suter scored his second goal of the night in the final minute to give Vancouver a 3-2 win over San Jose.
Jake DeBrusk also scored for the Canucks, snapping a two-game winless streak. Goalkeeper Kevin Lankinen made 21 saves. Nico Sturm and Mikael Granlund responded for the Sharks, with goalkeeper Mackenzie Blackwood stopping 24 shots.
With overtime looming because of a late-game layup by Granlund, Suter scored the winner with 25.7 seconds left. He found a soft spot in the left circle and snapped a stoppage-time save by Conor Garland for his fourth goal of the season.
