There were six different bettors this weekend, mostly on NFL Week 6 odds.
But it’s hard to beat this one for a return on investment: A $1 four-leg parlay that turned in more than $3,000 in profits.
Read more about those small bets for small wins, and some notable parlay/big bet winners from NFL Week 6 betting.
First Class
A DraftKings Sportsbook customer compiled the aforementioned mini lottery ticket. Parlay:
- Tank Dell for the first touchdown of the Texans-Patriots game
- Derrick Henry gets the first TD of the Ravens-Commanders game
- Chris Godwin gets the first TD of the Buckeyes-Saints game
- Jayden Reed scores the first TD of the Packers-Cardinals game
All four players delivered, with odds of +333012 — or, in easy-to-read format, about 3,330/1.
So the bettor cashed out $3,330.12, plus the original dollar in the bet.
Even better, the customer didn’t have to wait long. All of these games were in the 1 pm ET window on Sunday. Dell, Godwin and Reed scored within the first seven minutes of that game.
Henry made punters wait a little longer, but he delivered the first TD of the Ravens-Commanders game midway through the second quarter.
Parlay Party
How about a few of the most notable parlay hits from Sunday in the NFL?
At FanDuel Sportsbook, the customer had some faith in Chicago wideout Keenan Allen and Jacksonville wideout Gabe Davis, in the Bears-Jaguars game in London.
Bettors put $10 on a two-legged parlay of Allen and Davis scoring at least two touchdowns each, at odds of +61393 – a clear 614/1.
All four TDs came in the second half. Allen scored in the third and fourth quarters for Chicago. Davis scored again in the third quarter, then won the parlay ticket on Jacksonville’s meaningless TD with 6:58 left in the game.
It was the final result of the game, Chicago won 35-16. And it netted the bettor a profit of $6,139 on that $10.
Here’s a doozy from DraftKings: An 11-legged Parlay, which pits some teams against the spread and some on the money line. And the customer used the $250 bonus bet, so it was a free roll.
The only real sweat: The parlay consisted of Commanders +7 vs. Ravens, and Washington lost 30-23. But that’s a push – a tie, not a loss. So the sportsbook simply takes that leg out and pays for the remaining 10 legs that are beaten.
And those 10 legs paid off handsomely, totaling $35,752.
Riding with El Presidente
Dave Portnoy, head of Barstool Sports, is certainly influential in the sports betting world. This season, he provides the weekly touchdown parlay for DraftKings.
In week 6, over 50,000 DK customers viewed Portnoy’s three-legged mug:
- Texans running back Joe Mixon anytime TD
- Broad lions by Amon-Ra St. Brown anytime TD
- Eagles spread AJ Brown any TD
Mixon scored two goals in Houston’s 41-21 road rout of New England. As noted above, Brown scored a TD in the Eagles’ 20-16 home win over Cleveland.
St. Brown, however, made the bet a sweat.
Even though Detroit put up 40 points early in the fourth quarter, St. Brown was not among those who received paydirt. But with 13:18 left, he caught a 4-yard TD, the game’s final score in Detroit’s 47-9 road blowout at Dallas.
Those three players are stars who are expected to score touchdowns. So the odds on that three-legged match stood at +1133. However, if you put 10 bucks on it, you’ve won $113.30. That will make you and a few friends have a great night at Chili’s.
I Like To Be Betrayed Too Much And I Can’t Lie
The largest reported bet on Sunday’s NFL Week 6 Odd was a $150,000 play on the Falcons -275 vs. the Panthers. All Atlanta had to do was win the game, which they did easily, 38-20.
So the BetMGM customer made a profit of $54,545.45, for a total payout of $204,545.45.
Some notable wagers, both at Caesars Sports:
- $110,000 Jaguars +1.5 vs. Bears
- $110,000 Titans +1 vs. Colts
Both of those bets ended up being casino donations. Jacksonville was defeated by Chicago 35-16 in London, and Tennessee lost in Indianapolis 20-17.
The biggest bet remains, however, on Monday night’s Bills-Jets showdown. Tom Gable, sportsbook director at BetMGM’s Borgata in Atlantic City, said a customer placed $300,000 on the Jets +2.
That’s a lot of hope for a struggling team that recently fired its coach. It reminds us of the famous line from the movie Dodgeball:
“Brave plan, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.”
Or, for that matter, if it pays a Caesars customer who placed $110,000 on the Jets +2.5.
Enjoy this sweat tonight, bettors.
