MLS New York City FC midfielder Jacob Arroyave
New York City FC signed 17-year-old midfielder Jacob Arroyave to a domestic contract on Friday.
The Passaic, NJ, native is under contract through 2027 with an option for 2028.
“We are delighted that Jacob will officially join our first team roster in 2025,” said NYCFC sporting director David Lee. “Since joining our organization, he has developed rapidly and impressed during the start of the 2024 season and contributed to New York City FC II in the MLS NEXT Pro and their incredible run in the US Open Cup.
Arroyave scored two goals in 12 MLS NEXT Pro games (nine starts) in 2024. He started the US Open Cup first round win against FC Motown, providing an assist.
