Netanyahu vows revenge following Hezbollah assassination attempt

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Hezbollah following the alleged assassination attempt on him and his wife, calling it a “big mistake.”

“The attempt by the Iranian proxy Hezbollah to kill me and my wife today was a big mistake,” Netanyahu wrote on the X website on Saturday. “This will not stop me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war with our enemies to secure our future.”

Issuing a stern warning to Iran and the “Axis of Resistance,” which includes Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, the prime minister said Israel is determined to achieve its military objectives after the October 7 attack and “change the security reality in our region. for generations.”

“I say to Iran and its evil proxies: Anyone who tries to harm the citizens of Israel will pay a heavy price; We will continue to eliminate terrorists and those who send them; We will bring our hostages home from Gaza; and we will return our citizens living on our northern border safely to their homes,” he wrote.

“Israel is determined to achieve all our war goals and change the security reality in our region for generations to come,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu and his wife were not at home when the incident happened, his spokesman told Fox News.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Israel Channel 12 reported that Netanyahu was not in his bathroom for several days.

The Israeli military said three drones were shot down in Lebanon on Saturday towards the prime minister’s home, but two were intercepted.

There were reports of minor damage to the residence but Fox News Digital could not confirm that report.

After the assassination attempt, Netanyahu released a video message, confidently declaring that “we will win this war.”

“Two days ago we took out Sinwar, the terrorist mastermind, his criminals beheaded our men, raped our women and burned our children alive,” he said. “We got him out, and we’re still fighting other Iranian terrorists.”

“We will win this war,” he said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson wrote in the X that he had spoken with Netanyahu, saying the prime minister remained “unfazed.”
