Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi will be on a four-day visit to the UAE from Monday, to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
“This visit aims to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries, in line with the deepening of strong strategic relations in all sectors, and consolidate bilateral maritime relations between India and the UAE, as well as exploring new ways of cooperation between the two militaries,” the Ministry of Defense said in a statement. .
Admiral Tripathi will hold talks with UAE Navy Commander Rear Admiral Saeed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan and other senior UAE officials.
He is also scheduled to visit the National Defense College of the UAE, where he will interact with officers being trained, the department said.
The Navy chief will also witness the third India-UAE Bilateral Naval Exercise.
“Cooperation between the Indian Navy and the UAE Navy includes cooperation through Port Calls, Bilateral Naval Exercises and frequent visits, Navy-to-Navy Staff Talks, and Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) ,” said the department.
