In what must be the least anticipated iteration of the year, British online bank Monzo has dropped its answer to Spotify Wrapped in another vicious round.
Released last year to many, many memes, Monzo’s 2024 wrap has been re-released to low murmurs across the UK. No, I don’t need to know how much I spent [REDACTED], I already know. But this year, the team is listening – you can customize what the banking app tells you about your spending year, whether it’s “good” or “bad.”
“The country’s favorite acronym is back,” the website reads. “And this time, you choose how we return your year. We can be nice or violent. It’s your call.”

If you choose “good,” the app “makes it easy for you” by telling you the top places you’ve shopped, where you’ve eaten out, and where you’ve spent on entertainment. You’ll also see who you share the most debt with, how much you’ve saved, and the countries you’ve spent money in when you’ve used your card there.
If you choose “bad,” it shows you the same things – but worse about it. It’s exactly the same data, but the library is open.
The app literally mocked me for my choices. “Okay fancy pants,” she spat at me as I bought an M&S snack. “Newsflash: your fridge is almost here,” he barked indicating my favorite food outside my house. “Money can’t buy friendship. But you really tried,” he said, showing me the friends with whom I split the bills.
You have to hand it to Monzo, they thought of those memes.
