Michigan junior tackling tower Mason Graham has officially shifted gears to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Graham’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed that the All-American who helped the Wolverines to an undefeated championship season in 2023 was in flux. The Rose Bowl MVP in Michigan’s win over Alabama, Graham had 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2024.
Field Level Media rates Graham the No. 9 overall pick in the draft with a skill set comparable to Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne. The Alabama product was No. 13 pick in the 2018 draft because of his combination of upfield explosiveness, upper body strength and strength in his hands.
Those same traits earned Graham a two-time All-Big Ten selection and inspired the label from former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh that the inside lineman “is a gift from the Football Gods.”
Graham and linebacker Will Johnson, another likely first-round pick in 2025, were among the few returning players on the national team’s roster after Harbaugh left the NFL.
In 37 games at Michigan, Graham had 107 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 9.0 sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble.
Harbaugh said in 2023 when Graham returned to play from his broken left hand in two weeks that several of his friends in the NFL were texting him to sing Graham’s praises for his relentless drive and efficiency in all three.
A former power wrestler, Graham said ahead of the 2024 season that his biggest improvement was how to change his running style.
