“It wasn’t in the first list of the script but it was in the second one. I just thought it was a really nice nod,” Bialik, 49, said to herself. Us Weekly about how The Night Court found a way for him and Rauch, 44, to talk The Big Bang Theory.
On the Tuesday, January 14, episode of the NBC series, Bialik played an exaggerated version and talked about her past sitcom roles in an interview with Rauch’s character, Abby.
“You know, I’ve actually done a lot of things besides that Continue. Call me Kat again The Big Bang Theory,” Bialik said.
Rauch replied, “You were in that? I only remember the girl with the loudest voice. He was beautiful.”
Bialik was amused by the subtle nature of her on-screen encounter with Rauch. “That’s part of the fun of comedy and the fun of being in that space when anything happens,” he added. “That’s the fun of sitcoms.”
The two shared the screen The Night Court after expenses have been incurred The Big Bang Theory. The CBS sitcom, which ran from 2007 to 2019, stars Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal NayyarBialik and Rauch as a group of friends made up of scientists and their significant others.
After The Big Bang Theory ended, Bialik reunited with Parsons, 51, on the episode of Young Sheldon and now he did the same with Rauch.
“When I think about how long it has been The Big Bang Theory after all, this was the case that it felt like it hadn’t been long at all. Because we have worked together for almost ten years, and he learns a lot about the rhythm of a person and many things that he is used to as a comedian,” said the actor. “So I know how his brain works and he knows how my mind works. We have to create fun and have reaction shots that may not have been written in the script. That’s what he and I used to do together. It’s played that way.”
Bialik continued: “I know acting is a profession, but it’s also a craft. Like when you imagine what it’s like to be in a school play, it is. It’s like, there are more cameras. So you have that sense of play and creativity going on. we’re definitely comfortable with that because we’ve done it together for a long time.”
The Night Court reunited Bialik with him John Larroquette after they have finished The John Larroquette Show in the ’90s.
“It was really nice to work with John again. But there is also a certain amount of – I don’t want to say pressure – but I put pressure on myself because I want to be at my best. I worked Call me Kat It’s been three years but I’m not working on a regular sitcom right now,” he said. “It’s a little bit about wanting to be in a good mood as a comedian and making sure I don’t forget my lines.”
Bialik said there was “definitely some trepidation” about going on the show, saying, “If I mess up my line, I don’t want John to think I’m useless, which he won’t do.” There is certainly a bit of that. … It was a great group to be a part of, and that’s what I miss about being part of a group of people who do comedy that way.”
