Maharashtra: Lawyer arrested for defrauding Delhi resident of Rs 2.57 cr | Mumbai news

Azad Maidan police on Saturday arrested a 42-year-old lawyer for allegedly duping a 74-year-old New Delhi resident of Rs 2.57 crore.

Accused Vinaykumar Ashok Khatu, a resident of Parel, was arrested in Nerul, Navi Mumbai for allegedly defrauding Urmila Darab Talyarakhan, the complainant.

According to the police, the lawyer who represented the plaintiff in the matter before the court Bombay High Court he accepted the money from Darab as his money after giving him copies of the court decision in his favor. Later, Darab found out that the court’s orders were false, an FIR was filed against him
