A spokesperson for Friedman Agnifilo’s company, Agnifilo Intrater LLP, confirmed that Us Weekly that he was retained to represent Mangione, 26, in New York. Friedman Agnifilo “will not be making any further statements at this time,” a spokesman said Us.
Mangione is accused of killing Thompson outside the entrance to the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel in New York City on December 4. After a five-day manhunt, Mangione was arrested on December 9.
He was charged with murder and faces four additional charges, including forgery and criminal possession of a firearm. Mangione is currently being held at the Huntingdon Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.
Marc Agniflo’s client, Diddy, 55, made headlines in November 2023 when his ex-girlfriend. Cassie accused him of sexual harassment in the case. One of Diddy’s lawyers, Ben Brafmanhe denied what he accused him of at the time, and the case was dismissed after one day.
After Cassie’s complaint, several lawsuits have been filed against Diddy, including Danity Kane. Aubrey O’Day again Kimora Lee Simmons.
In March 2024, several of Diddy’s homes – including residences in Miami and Los Angeles – were raided by Homeland Security in connection with a sex-trafficking investigation. In September, Diddy was arrested in New York City and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering and transportation for prostitution. He denied all the allegations against him.
After Diddy’s arrest, Marc Agnifilo appeared on CNN’s The Source With Kaitlan Collins that his client was innocent. “You are innocent,” said Agnifilo. “I believe that he is innocent. I believe that he is innocent of the crimes,” he said. “He will go to court. And I believe he will win.”
Diddy is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Brooklyn Detention Center. He has been denied bail four times. On December 13, People reported that Diddy has withdrawn his latest request to be released on bail.
