Siddaramaiah, who has denied the MUDA allegations, has been asked to appear before the Lokayukta for investigation on November 6.

Lokayukta police on Monday summoned Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for questioning in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case, officials said.
“Yes, Mysore Lokayukta has issued a notification regarding MUDA. I will go to the Mysore Lokayukta on November 6,” said the prime minister who was asked to appear before the Lokayukta for questioning on November 6.
The Chief Minister will appear before Superintendent of Police (SP) TJ Udesh, who heads the Mysuru Lokayukta police team investigating the MUDA scam.
Both Siddaramaiah and his wife Parvathi, as well as his brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy and Devaraju, from whom Swamy bought the plot which was later gifted to Parvathi, were named in the MALI registered by the Mysuru Lokayukta police on September 27.
The case was filed after a Bengaluru special court ordered the Lokayukta to conduct an inquiry against Siddaramaiah for alleged irregularities in the allotment of 14 plots worth Rs 56 crore to his wife Parvathi by the MUDA.
Earlier, the Karnataka High Court upheld Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s decision to investigate Siddaramaiah in the MUDA case.
Siddaramaiah’s Wife Returns Property
In early September, the Chief Minister’s wife, in a letter to the MUDA Commissioner, Raghunandan, expressed her willingness to return these 14 areas, following allegations of illegality in their allocation.
Expressing his willingness to return these properties, the MUDA Commissioner said, “We will not refuse if someone returns MUDA property, we have discussed.”
The Lokayukta on October 25 questioned his wife Parvathi, who is the second defendant in the case. The Lokayukta also questioned the third accused Mallikarjuna Swamy, Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law and land owner J Devaraju.
Siddaramaiah alleged that his family was dragged into the conflict by members of the opposition parties.
“My wife Parvati has returned the lands that were given to her as compensation for the land that was taken away from Muda in Mysore. The people of the state also know that the Opposition parties are creating a false grievance and dragging my family into the fray to create political hatred for me,” said Siddaramaiah.
Earlier the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also booked the Chief Minister, his wife Parvathi, and others in a money laundering case related to the land allotment case, taking cognizance of the FIR by the Lokayukta.
