Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious injury vs Cowboys, leaving the game on the backboard

Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson entered Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys leading the NFL in sacks with 6.5, but his season was in jeopardy.

In the third quarter, Hutchinson added to his league lead with his seventh sack of the season. However, as he was on the ground after tackling Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Hutchinson appeared to hit his leg against another player.

Hutchinson was soon overcome with pain and took off his gloves as medical trainers tended to him. The game was paused as players and coaches from both teams gathered for the third-year player.

He was then placed on the backboard and got into a car and was taken out of the AT&T Stadium.

Hutchinson had three complete fights before the injury.

He has been part of the reason why the Lions’ defense has seen a resurgence since the 2022 season. Detroit selected him with the No. 2 draft pick that year, and quickly came on strong. He finished second for Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022 with 9.5 sacks and three interceptions.

Last season, he had 11.5 sacks and an interception en route to the first Pro Bowl selection of his career.
