Libertarian columnist Fran Lebowitz called on President Biden to “dismantle” the Supreme Court during an interview with “Real Time” host Bill Maher.
In an interview on Saturday, Lebowitz, 73, insulted the high court, calling it “Trump’s house” while criticizing the president’s immunity decision in a case involving the former president.
“It is a disgrace that this court should not even be allowed to be called the High Court,” he said. “It’s not. It’s an insult to Motown to call it the Supreme Court. It’s not even a court … actually, it’s the house of women. It’s the house of Trump.

“When they passed that law, that decision, when they said ‘you’re not the president, you’re the king,’ meaning that decision, you can do whatever you want, you’ll never be impeached, you thought, ‘You know, Biden is still president. “But I think Biden should dissolve the Supreme Court. “
Maher backed off, “overturn the Supreme Court? Come on.”
“I’m the president, I’m the king now, like you said, go home,” Lebowitz replied.
“Okay. Good to see you’re a centrist,” Maher replied sarcastically before changing the subject.
The Supreme Court issued an important decision a case of presidential immunity against former President Trump in July, declaring that the former president is largely immune from prosecution for legal acts committed while in office, but not for illegal acts. Trump hailed the decision as “smartly written and intelligent” at the time, calling it “a huge victory for our Constitution and our democracy.”

President Biden called it a “dangerous precedent” during his campaign new reforms of the Supreme Courtincluding term limits and a new code of conduct, and writing a new constitutional amendment limiting presidential immunity.
Lebowitz, an author and speaker best known for his appearances on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” has a history of making extreme statements against Trump.
In 2019, he suggested on “Real Time” that impeachment was not enough to punish Trump.

“He certainly deserves to be charged. I mean, a trial is just the beginning of what he deserves. Not even a scratch and what he deserves,” said Lebowitz. “Whenever I think about this and what he really deserves, I think, ‘We have to give him the Saudis, you know, his friends. The same Saudis who got rid of that reporter, you know. Maybe they’ll do the same. for him.'”

His comments were in reference to the 2018 massacre Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggiwho is believed to have been tortured and hacked to death, allegedly under the orders of the Saudi government.
He later apologized for the comments after facing widespread backlash.
“I saw your face when I said it. I didn’t realize I said it. I had a dozen cups of coffee,” Lebowitz told Maher. “I regret saying it.”
“You know, everybody else too, and, and, and …” Maher told the panel. “I mean, it’s a live show. You don’t really want to see the president get dismantled by the Saudis. I don’t like Donald Trump either. … but whoever the president is, we don’t want physical. damage,” Maher said at the time.
