Lawrence Bishnoi’s lawyer said that a gangster was involved in the incident the assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique it was yet to be proven, and it was just an allegation made on social media. In an interview with India Today, Rajni Khatri, Bishnoi’s lawyer, also denied that Bishnoi is related to terrorists, saying there is no evidence.
“Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has entered the murder case (Baba Siddique), but it is just an allegation. It must be investigated who made the claim on social media,” said Khatri.
Baba Siddique, a three-time MP and former Maharashtra chief minister, was shot dead by three men outside the office of his MP son Zeeshan Siddiqui in Mumbai’s Bandra last week. A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Shubham Lonkar, said he was guilty of murder on social media.
The document says that Siddique was targeted because of his alleged links to terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, and the death of Anuj Thapan, a suspect in a shooting incident outside Salman Khan’s house.
Thapan was found dead in police custody on May 1, authorities say he died of suicide. However, Thapan’s family says he was tortured.
“I want to ask the Minister. A fast-track court will investigate the murder of Baba Siddique, but Anuj Thapan’s report has not arrived so far,” said Bishnoi’s lawyer.
