Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao on Wednesday sent a legal notice to Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Konda Surekha, after his remarks against him sparked a huge controversy.
Surekha said that KTR is related to the divorce of actresses Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya, and also made other allegations about the BRS leader.
In a legal notice issued to the Minister, KTR described his comments as “baseless and hateful” and accused him of trying to tarnish his reputation by making unsubstantiated claims.
“I am surprised that my fellow pastor would say such words without respect,” said KTR in his statement. He also called Surekha’s words politically motivated and said they were aimed at destroying his image.
KTR demanded that Konda Surekha withdraw his statements and publicly apologize. If he fails to do so within 24 hours, he warned that he will take legal action, including defamation and criminal proceedings.
A viral video featuring Telangana Chief Minister Konda Surekha created a controversy earlier today. In this video, he accused KTR of interfering in the lives of celebrities and being associated with drug-related controversies.
At that time, the Telugu actor Samantha expressed her disappointment with Konda Surekha’s comments about his divorce, stressing the need to respect players’ privacy and personal life.
Previously, Naga Chaitanya’s father, actor Nagarjuna also strongly criticized the Minister’s comments.
“I strongly condemn the comments of the honorable minister, Mrs. Konda Surekha. Do not use the life of film stars who distance themselves from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy,” he wrote in X in Telugu.
“As a woman in a position of responsibility, your comments and accusations against our family are irrelevant and false. Please withdraw your comments immediately,” her tweet continued.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha publicly announced their separation in 2021.
