Dance Moms star Kelly Hyland he was moved to tears when he saw his daughter Brooke Hyland in a wedding dress.
“The reaction to the first wedding dress I tried on,” wrote Brooke, 26, in a Friday, September 27, TikTok video. In this clip, Kelly, 53, turns to glimpse Brooke in her dress and tears appear in her eyes as she holds her daughter.
Kelly continues to stare at Brooke’s gown like her sister Paige Hylandjaws dropped as he walked by. As the camera pans back to Kelly, she is seen gazing respectfully at Brooke.
“This one is still working,” Brooke said in an uploaded caption.
Brooke also posted a TikTok on her Instagram Story on Saturday, September 28, writing, “Special time, special people.”

Brooke announced in May that she and Brian Thalman they are engaged to be married. “I just learned you’re almost as tall as me at one knee – here’s to today, tomorrow, and forever after 💍,” she wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside photos of their wedding.
Weeks later, Kelly revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “The first red flag was my weight loss,” Kelly said E! News in May. “I’ve lost enough for others to see and ask for my diet hacks, but I haven’t changed anything in my daily routine to cause the loss.”
Kelly booked a mammogram in late March after finding a lump in her breast. “I just had one done eight months ago and the results came back clean,” he explained. “However, this new mammogram and sonogram didn’t, it just showed a mass.”
After Kelly underwent a biopsy, the mass came back negative and she was diagnosed with invasive carcinoma grade 3. While she was considering the diagnosis, Kelly told the newspaper that breaking the news to Brooke, Paige, and son Josh “was a very difficult conversation. to all of us.” (Kelly shares her children with her ex-husband Randy Hyland.)
“We watched my Nana fight cancer for years, so I knew we were at the beginning of a long and challenging road,” Brooke told the outlet, referring to Kelly’s mother, who died of cancer in 2019. I had to watch another important person in my life go through it.”

Months later, Kelly revealed that she had reached a milestone in her battle with cancer. “I have to ring the bell today,” she wrote in an August Instagram post, along with a video of herself pulling on a rope attached to a bell. “This was the end of my first treatment … the next steps were surgery, 20 radiation and 11 more treatments. I GOT THIS.”
Kelly, Brooke and Paige play a major role Dance Moms seasons 1 to 4 from 2011 to 2014. The family left the show before the end of season 4 due to disagreements between Kelly and the girls’ dance coach, Abby Lee Miller.
