Team Sonic may not get a chance to face Shadow the Hedgehog (Keanu Reeves). If you’re familiar with Sega’s gaming history, you know things are about to get very dark when the iconic anti-hero video game makes its debut. Sonic the Hedgehog 3. It is expected that the film will be released later this year Knuckles on Paramount+, here’s a look at Shadow released and featuring Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and Knuckles (Idris Elba).

What’s funny about the clip above—besides our heroes finding out there’s a new boss-level threat in town—is that Sonic the Hedgehogit’s actually a reference to Keanu Reeves when Sonic looks at Kathryn Bigelow’s Point Break as the Donut Lord (James Marsden) did outside the house before they became the family of the franchise. So it’s really cool to see Sonic fighting with the voice of one of his heroes. Also, there should be a meta nod to the upcoming film. And just as a Sonic fan, who last played the Dreamcast era of games featuring Shadow’s story, it’s amazing to see it all unfold on screen.
We’ll be waiting with bated breath to see his tragic history with Maria Robotnik, whom Shadow approached while in Gerald Robotnik’s lab where he was created. Yes, of course, they are related to Eggman (Jim Carrey); he’s back as the franchise’s archenemy, who Team Sonic finds himself needing to recruit to stop his grandfather Gerald (played by Carrey) and Shadow’s undoubted plans.
