The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducted 17 competitive examinations, recruited 6,052 candidates, and processed over 20 lakh applications by 2024. These tests included the PSI and K-SET recruitment tests, which were held twice.

“Besides handling entrance exams, seat allocation, and admissions programs for engineering courses, KEA also conducts recruitment exams for various government departments. In 2024, we processed more than 20 lakh applications, setting a record in the three-decade history of KEA,” KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna.

The recruitment tests for the notifications issued in 2022 and 2023 are also conducted this year.

Mr. Prasanna added that the tests were conducted transparently, with no room for misconduct or irregularities. Speaking about the webcasting system that is open to the technology used during the examination, Mr. Prasanna said it helps in real-time monitoring of each exam hall at the KEA office in Bengaluru. “This centralized control system allowed for quick detection and response to irregularities, and ensured an error-free environment,” he said.

“One of the important events of the year was the recruitment of 947 police inspectors (PSIs), which was done in two phases – 545 posts in the first phase and 402 in the second phase,” said Mr. Prasanna.

He also revealed that other major recruitments to be completed by 2024 include writing exams for 300 Principal posts in graduate colleges, 72 MSIL posts, 386 posts for Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, 186 posts for Karnataka Building and other Staff Welfare Board of Construction, and 26 Vacancies of KEONICS, for which notifications were issued in 2022. In addition, 14 posts in Sainik Welfare and Resettlement Board, 41 posts in Karnataka State Financial Corporation, and 394 posts in Karnataka Power Corporation were also filled through the recruitment process.

“Certificates have been issued to those who qualify, and this year’s certificates are still waiting to be issued. Alongside such a large number of recruitment tests, KEA continued its core functions of conducting CET tests, allotting seats, and admissions to professional courses—a first in its history. “KEA also held entrance exams for admission to residential schools,” said Mr. Prasanna.
