Kate Middleton Returns to Work for First Time Since Cancer Treatment

Kate Middleton she has returned to her royal duties for the first time since completing her cancer treatment.

The Princess of Wales, 42, met with members of the Early Childhood Center team, part of Kate and Prince William‘s Royal Foundation that develops programs based on their charitable interests, Tuesday, September 17. The institution itself conducts research on child development, which aims to initiate changes in society.

According to the Court Circular, which is the official record of the royal family’s daily activities, the meeting was held at Windsor Castle. Per The TelegraphThe Court Circular event read, “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held the First Years Meeting at Windsor Castle.”

The attendance comes after Kate revealed in a social media video posted on September 9, that she has completed chemotherapy to treat her cancer. The video, which featured William, 42, and the couple’s three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, suggested that Kate would return to work cautiously soon.

“Even though I’m done with chemotherapy, my road to recovery and recovery is long and I have to continue to take each day as it comes,” he was heard saying in the video. “However, I am looking forward to getting back to work and engaging with the community a bit more in the coming months when I can. Despite everything that has happened before I enter this new phase of recovery I have a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life.”

The Telegraph added that throughout her illness, Kate was kept up to date with the progress of the Early Childhood Centre. The organization aims to “invest their money [childrens’] mental health and their emotional learning to build their ability to develop healthy relationships, as this is the basis for the child’s future well-being,” according to its official website.

Kate is slowly returning to the public spotlight, and is paying tribute to the Duke of Sussex on his recent milestone birthday.

Both Kate and Williams wished Prince Harry happy birthday in a rare Instagram Story and post about X who celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday, September 15.

“We wish the Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday,” the couple wrote on social media.

Kate kept a low profile in early 2024 as she focused on her health, making only two official appearances since announcing she had cancer.

Kate shared her first update on her illness in June, thanking the public and William for their continued support. “On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to let your body rest,” he shared at the time. “But on good days, when you feel strong, you want to do your best to feel healthy.”
