Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, leading ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations at Ayodhya’s Ram temple on Wednesday, he said that Ayodhya is just the beginning and that Kashi and Mathura will also shine in the same way. He asserted that Ayodhya is proof of a “double-engine government delivering on its promises”.
Addressing a meeting held at Deepotsav, the the first since the consecration of the Ram Temple in Januarythe Chief Minister said, “This is history, as Lord Ram is staying at his abode in Ayodhya on Diwali after 500 years”.
“This is just the beginning, and we must reach its logical conclusion. In 2047, when India celebrates 100 years of independence, Kashi and Mathura should shine like Ayodhya,” Adityanath added.
The mention of Mathura and Kashi was important, as both sites are embroiled in legal disputes over the ownership and control of prominent religious symbols. Mathura is the focus of the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah dispute, while the Kashi Vishwanath Temple-Gyanvapi Mosque case is also in court.
The Chief Minister further said, “The dual-engine government has fulfilled its commitment; now, Ayodhya must prove itself.agnipariksha’ of Maa Sita should not happen again. We have to move beyond this, and the people of Ayodhya must wake up again. That is why we are here today in this great celebration.”
“There is still a lot to be done. This is just the beginning. Ayodhya is the beginning of Sanatana Dharma, translating Prime Minister Modi’s vision of values and development into reality on the ground, and taking that campaign to a global level. The world bears witness to the beauty and divinity of Kashi,” he added.
The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to transform Ayodhya into one of the most beautiful cities in the world, adding that he remembers “all those souls who sacrificed their lives in the Ram Janmabhoomi cause”.
He also took a swipe at the opposition party, saying that they have become “obstacles” to the government’s development plans. “Like the mafia, these obstacles will be eliminated,” he stressed.
More than 25 lakh earthen lamps were lit on the banks of the Saryu river in Ayodhya on Wednesday as part of a record-breaking effort to celebrate the eighth ‘Deepotsav’.. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the celebrations along with his cabinet members and dignitaries, including Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
