The Department of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj is expected to organize a two-day national Swaraj Conference from November 13 and to mark three decades of implementation of the Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj Act in Karnataka.
Announcing this at a press conference in Bengaluru, RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge said that the State, national and international experts in the field of rural development, panchayat raj, education, economics and law will be invited to the meeting, which will have debates, workshops and a roundtable. . -table conferences.
The resolutions to be adopted by the proposed meeting will be called the ‘Karnataka Panchayat Raj Declaration’. A charter for the next 30 years of operation of the Gram Swaraj program in Karnataka will be prepared based on the results of the proposed meeting. The theme of the meeting will be Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence, honesty and brotherhood.
