Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed allegations that the Congress rally in Hassan was a show of force, asserting that the event was meant to promote their philosophy of governance. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru, Shivakumar emphasized the party’s commitment to engaging people through these platforms.

“We don’t need to show strength. This is a conference organized by the group and supported by many like-minded organizations. Similar conferences are being organized in other regions with their support,” he said. Accusing the BJP of being jealous, Shivakumar said, “BJP is condemning the event because it is jealous. No one tried to console Hassan’s mothers when they were in grief. Instead, they went to Channapatna to shed tears. BJP and JD(S) lost their base, that’s why they targeted it.” event.”

When asked about the dissatisfaction expressed by Home Minister G Parameshwara over the power sharing agreement, Shivakumar clarified his stand, noting that his comments were taken out of context. “I did not talk about it in front of you or in front of Parameshwara. I shared my opinion about the news channel. The Prime Minister has said that there is no provision. I will not continue discussing this issue. Our government will finish its entire term,” he said.

Parameshwara on Thursday rejected any power-sharing deal involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. He said, “We are not aware of any agreement. I don’t know. I asked two-three people about it, in Delhi and here. No one said there was an agreement. I don’t know the context in which Shivakumar spoke.”

He added that eventually the high command will make a decision and everyone will follow it.

Addressing speculations about differences with Parameshwara, Shivakumar dismissed any claims of disagreement. “I have no misunderstanding with anyone. I have no political enmity. We have worked together in the party and we will continue to do so,” he said, assuring unity in the leadership of the Congress.
