BJP leader NR Ramesh has filed a complaint with the Karnataka Lokayukta against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and several members of his family, accusing them of being involved in a wide-ranging corruption scheme. The allegations include fraud, falsification of documents, conspiracy to illegally acquire government land, and facilitating the illegal theft of public property.
The complaint also accused Kharge and others of illegally confiscating government property, and raised concerns about the allocation of land under dubious circumstances. One of the key claims involves the allotment of five acres of land to the Siddharth Vihar Trust, which is linked to Kharge’s family.
Named in the complaint are Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Minister Priyank M Kharge, Rahul M Kharge, Radhabai M Kharge, Radhakrishna, Karnataka Chief Minister MB Patil, and IAS officer Dr S Selvakumar.
The BJP leader submitted 394 documents as evidence to support his claims.
According to the complaint, two different government agencies allotted the Siddharth Vihar Trust.
In 2014, an area of 8,002 sq. meter (86,133 sq. ft.) CA plot, plot number 05 in Bengaluru’s BTM 4th Stage, is said to be allotted through the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).
Additionally, on May 30, 2024, five hectares of land in the Hi-Tech Defense and Aerospace Park in Bagalur was allotted to Rahul M Kharge by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).
Ramesh alleged that this land allocation was not properly authorized and he has asked for a thorough investigation into the actions of those mentioned in the complaint.
